Choosing your Pressure Washer

For deep cleaning with effective results, pressure washing is one of the best methods to be used. This widely known cleaning technology involves the use of pressurized water in order to remove dirt from the surface. It is recommended that this is done on a regular basis as part of home preservation not because it truly cleans but it also prevents damages to your property due to contaminants and poor maintenance.
If you are planning to purchase your own pressure washer and planning to do the cleaning yourself instead of hiring pressure washing services, then you have to carefully choose the most appropriate type of pressure washer for you based on your needs. You have to determine the level of performance that you need to complete the cleaning task. How much pressure? How much water flow? Do you need chemicals to go with the water or not? Do you need to use hot or cold water? Would you prefer electric or gas powered? Well, to help you decide, let us discuss the different types of pressure washers and their features.
There are two main classifications of pressure washers, for home use or commercial use. If you will only use the pressure washer for just a couple of hours per week, then the home-use pressure washer will be enough. This is usually portable and also cost lesser than those for commercial or industrial use. On the other hand, if you plan to use this pressure washer for a huge number of hours every day, you need an industrial grade pressure washer. Heavy duty industrial grade pressure washers are usually used by companies or contractors that do pressure washing services. So if you are not planning to have your own pressure cleaning company, just settle with the home-use pressure washer.
In terms of the power source, pressure washers have two basic types: electric and gas powered. Pressure washer that uses electricity is used in pressure cleaning that do not need too much water pressure. Also, bear in mind the proximity of electrical outlets when using electric pressure washer. In contrast, there is gas-powered pressure washer which is more portable and is suitable for outdoor use such as cleaning your driveway, deck, and outdoor walls. There are some gas-powered washers that are noticeably heavier than electrical power washers, and are usually mounted on wheeled carts or trailers. This pressure washing system is capable of producing much higher pressure and flow rates but just make sure that your water supply is also enough. Once it pumps out a certain volume of water, your source should be able to supply it otherwise, the pump might be damaged.
Next to consider is the temperature of the water. Cold water pressure washers can be used to effectively clean many objects and surfaces through a combination of impact of the spray and the application of cleaning chemicals and soaps. Take note that cold refers to the normal temperature of the water as it comes out of the water source. However, sometimes this is not enough in pressure washing surface where there is grease or oil. Alternatively, there are pressure washers that use diesel or kerosene to heat the pressurized water in a heavy duty heating coil. Hot water can make cleaning faster by loosening dirt, gum, grease, oil, grimes and other pollutants.
Once you have decided on these basic factors, then you can check out different brands that you can choose from. If you are still having a difficulty, you can always consult a professional who can help you get the best pressure washer for you.
